It definitely can Milly, just avoid regular 'white' pasta and go for whole-wheat varieties which have 3 times more fiber and twice as much iron! Also watch serving sizes as it's so easy to over-eat pasta (i.e. restaurant servings are usually 3-4 servings!!). Also go for tomato based sauces, rather than creamy like Alfredo. Aside from those points, pasta is a great source of whole grains!
